SMFK FLASH, Xi' an Pop-up Exhibition
Xi' an, Yanzhan Road, Yanta District
ZHAYAN Studio has created a pop-up exhibition space in Xi'an for SMFK, a pioneering brand at the forefront of Chinese luxury streetwear.Spanning 246 square meters, the space accommodates sales display, fitting, cashier, and storage functions in an orderly layout.
ZHAYAN Studio took "construction site in progress"as the core concept, integrating the exposure of the building's skeleton, the creation of an industrial texture, and the sculpting of a craftsmanship spirit into one cohesive whole. The facade features a glass curtain wall lined with scaffolding and a suspended illuminated LOGO,generating the distinctive dynamic tension of a pop-up apparel store.Inside, the bare ceiling is left exposed, with precast concrete walls echoing the cement-brushed floors, complemented by the arrangement of industrial lighting to form a restrained, natural industrial color palette. In terms of materials, metal scaffolding and pine wood serve as the foundation, while leather and wood veneer are incorporated into the display fixtures, offsetting the feminine sensibility of the female consumer base. From the interface to the details, the space consistently redefines the apparel experience within the imagery of a worksite ever "in progress.
Additionally,ZHAYAN Studio collaborated with SMFK to co-create pieces within the space, including sofas, lighting fixtures, and display shelving.
